Next year I want to travel for 2 weeks to Scotland, so I've planned. 14 days...by foot...almost 400 and a few kilometers...me....alone... Yeah!
My plan provides that I will fly from Nürnberg to Aberdeen. Then I go straight to Inverurie. After that I will continue walking to Huntly.
Soon after I will have 2 possibilities:
From Huntly to the fork between Rothes and Charlstown of Aberlour. For this way I have to go to the north and then in south-west-direction.
But there is one faster route. I also can use the route from Huntly to Dufftown and from there to Charlstown of Aberlour. So I could save many kilometers 'cause I mustn't walt into the north.
Afterwards I walk to Grantown on Spey (in the south). Then I almost got it! I have to go to Aviemore. In the near I will take a look at "Loch an Eilean" and "Loch Morlich". They are just a few kilometers next to Aviemore (a little in the east).
If I got this stage I'll walk directly to Kingussie.
From there I want to go to "Loch Ness" but I'm not sure about how much kilometers Kingussie is away from "Loch Ness". And by the way: The route is mountainous and dry. Without any sea or river to clean myself...
It doesn't matter if I reach "Loch Ness" or not.
After all I have to walk back to Aberdeen..
To walk back I'll take the route from Kingussie to "Cairngorms National Park" and then walk to Ballater. This will be a long way to go... From Ballater I walk to Aboyne. And then straight to Banchory and finaly to Aberdeen.
